EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Poetry Alive!, Performance Educator/Special Projects/Webmaster
Assist in training five teams that tour the country 10-12 months of the year to K-12 schools performing poetry, giving poetry performance workshops, and in-school residencies for students and teachers. Fill in as understudy as needed and assist with teacher conferences, in-services, and residencies. Assist in development of scripts and secure performance permission for material protected by copyright. Webmaster duties include: general maintenance and updates to website, improving quality of resource material for students and teachers, responding to student email and selecting student poems for "poem of the month."

June 2001 - Present

Design and manage Microsoft Access database for sponsors and grants, generate sales reports, create sponsorship proposal letters for Director of Corporate Sales, track status of proposals and contracts, track compliance requirements, create marketing materials, oversee printing and production of program materials, word processing, and special projects for the Associate and Executive Directors as assigned.

Duties include:  Database management, database design in Microsoft Access, generating sales reports, data entry, creating advertising proposals for Sales Representatives, writing up advertising contracts, creating press releases, word processing, checking film materials, answering phone, filing, and special projects for the Publisher as assigned.

Duties include:  Typesetting, proofing, and editing in Quark 3.31 text for monthly publication Emeralds in the Ash as well as the novel No Forwarding Address. Assist with distribution, public relations, sales at local poetry venues, special events, and contribute poetry for publication.

June 1994 - Jan 1996

Intiman Theatre, Box Office Consultant
Duties include:  Maintenance and cleanup of 43,600 files in patron database, assist in training new box office staff, and assist with transition to Prologue Ticketing System.

July 1995 - Oct 1995

Spectrum Dance Company, Box Office Manager
Set up order forms and reports in Microsoft Access; created systems to take orders,  deposit money, and account for sales; trained staff on new procedures.

July 1995 - Sept 1995

Intiman Theatre, Assistant Box Office Manager
Processed subscriptions; reported sales to Marketing, Accounting, and Managing Director; assisted in training of telemarketing team and box office employees; hired and laid off box office assistants; prepared mailings; handled patron problems and inquiries; helped find and resolve new phone system problems; etc.
