Because i want to be cool like my friend Andy i've added a search box to my site. It's kinda cool. Now you can do things like search how many times i talk about dreams or find a poem about an artichoke. Hee hee! Give it a try...

I wormed my way through the crowd last night with my friend Vera to get a good view of Better Than Ezra who were the headliners for Belle Cher yesterday. For a band that i knew i had heard of, but couldn't remember why, i certainly enjoyed myself. There were the "hits" that i recognized, but i really enjoyed the show that they put on. They were a lot of fun. One of the highlights was a disco moment inspired by the backdrop to the stage. Not to be topped though was the 11 year old girl who helped finish playing the song that he had turned over his guitar to a young woman from the audience to play while he just sang along. Confused? I was trying to describe in one sentence something that obviously needs a little more time and brain power for me to communicate. Anyway...it was cool.

I'm moving a bit slow, but i'm going to try to make it downtown by 5:00pm today to meet her again to dance to Cigar Store Indians. I'd also like to dance to Carnavalito. Somewhere in between i might do some window shopping at all the cool arts and crafty stuff set up in booths all over town. Mostly, i just enjoy watching the crowds at events like this. People are very entertaining.

Sometime i'll get my work done on the house and yard, but it doesn't look like it will happen today. Off to play.~w

Yesterday they were working on the cable outside my house, so i had no connection and therefore forgot to blog since i didn't do it first thing. Today...i'm moving slow again. Believe it or not, i actually was at work by 8:30am yesterday. i was hoping for 9am today, but i'm already behind. Ah, well. Belle Chere starts at noon today. The city began closing off streets last night and today downtown Asheville turns into an arts & crafts mall with a variety of music and such on stages strategically placed on streets around town. It should definitely keep me entertained this weekend.

In my head i'm still spinning dizzy from a whirlwind of information and ideas and comraderie over dinner last night at the local pub. It's amazing how the world can come to you if you sit in the right spot for about 3 hours. I learned more than i probably should know and realized that i know absolutely nothing. Life is paradox and can be sung to the tune of any song.~w

It's felt like a wild and woolly couple of days, although the sun is shining brightly. I'm trying to get back on top of all the things i have to do and keep realizing that i'd rather be lying on a beach or playing in the ocean or doing anything outside that doesn't involved computers or lists of things to do. Yesterday's play down at the Columbus library was a joy. I also had a date with a 5-3/4 year old to see Pinnochio. That was a blast. Even though he has a girlfriend his own age, he made me feel like queen for the day. He was kind enough to keep reassuring me throughout the movie that it would all be okay because Pinnochio becomes a real boy in the end and Gepetto gets to have a son. That helped when we got to the donkey part and i realized that as a child i used to have nightmares that a witch had turned my family into donkeys. I think it had something to do with that scene. I didn't get as much work done as i planned and i'm already slow-poking it today. So, i'd better get moving...~w

My spirits are definitely brighter today. My ears took more time to adjust than planned though and i must fly out the door now to get to the library in time for the show.~w

While i certainly can't complain about my day off after reading Sam's, i must say i felt like crawling in a hole and doing nothing. Yesterday, i spent the morning, as i mentioned, with my cat. I had called the day before and talked to the vet about a bump on her back and decided that it could wait until today. So, we're headed to the vet now to get her all fixed up, but i wish now that i had rushed her in on Saturday morning. She's not a happy kitty. After planning Tuesday's show (and driving to South Carolina by mistake when i jumped on the freeway to leave) i came home and spent the rest of the day finishing a good book and watching 3 hours of junk television while eating my favorite foods...chocolate ice cream, smoked trout dip with crackers and cheese, and popcorn with milk. I woke this morning to discover that 8:30am is not early enough to take out the recycling and trash so, i'll have to bring the full bins back up the driveway again. Now i'm off to the vet and crossing my fingers that things will start to be happier soon.~w

I spent the morning playing nurse to a cat with an abcess on her back. She'll visit the vet tomorrow. Now i'm late for meeting up with some friends to plan our performance for tuesday morning.~w
