I'm busy putting on ears, glitter and wings. The hard part's done as far as the ears go, but i'm running late now and will have to write more later.~w

I got the fairy costume yesterday, except for the wings. I'll pick them up on the way this morning. I'm not sure exactly how it all will work, but it will be an adventure. TV people are suppose to film us at noon so i gotta go get myself glittery soon. Between walking out of work late and missing part of quigong class, seeing an old friend there who i haven't spoken to but not really talking because i was rushing from there to the wing lady, and finally coming home to feed the cat and myself only to find that my cat stubbed her toe jumping down from the counter and was tracking blood across the kitchen i feel kinda happy just to be in one piece...mostly. I have an appointment with the chiropractor this afternoon so hopefully i'll be able to turn my head this weekend.~w

I heard a really good band by accident last night. I had rushed from the gym to meet a friend for a book talk at the local bookstore and we decided to grab a bite to eat and wait for another friend to meet us. Of course the meeting place was Jack of the Wood, but Wed is usually just a jam night there with no cover. When asked for a cover we said we were just eating and planning to leave early, but i nearly changed my mind when the band started playing. The closest thing i can compare it to is the Waterboys, but that's not who it was. The showmanship of Tempest in addition to their sound was intoxicating. I was hooked and although i did still leave early without paying cover, i did spend the money on their new CD Balance and am extremely happy with my purchase. Tonight though i have to get home after work and quigong to work on my lines for the weekend.~w

My puzzle of the week is trying to figure out if i can afford to make it to my cousin's wedding in Colorado in June. Airfares are not cooperating with my budget. Once that's done i still have to look at rental car stuff. It's making me a little batty.
Beyond that, i spent last night memorizing lines for this weekend. whoo hoo! i'm exciting this week.
I did have kinda a cool dream. This black bear was chasing me and i grabbed it's muzzle and threw my legs around it's neck so it couldn't bite or scratch me. I wasn't sure what to do then, but i realized it actually could easily take a swipe at me, but wasn't doing so and in reality had no intention of hurting me. It was a nice change from dreams i've had since i was a kid of running away from bears.~w

I'm making the leap...i've signed up for cable. Not only is this the first time i'll have speedy access at home, but also, i've never had cable tv and they come only as a package (actually, i could pay $.05 a month more to NOT have cable tv, but that didn't make any sense). However, that means this site will be moving pretty soon. I'll still get free site hosting from charter, but not at the current address. Since i can't tell you what that address might be yet i'm looking at some options. One option would be to get my own domain name to avoid any future confusion...any suggestions?
If all else fails, once upon a time i signed up to to get the free name "http://www.wordweavings.turn.to" which gives you an icky pop up ad, but i think i can change it to redirect you to the new site address. Obviously i haven't moved yet, i'll keep you updated as the move gets closer. In the meantime...i have a faerie costume to accessorize, information to sort through for volunteering with my neighborhood library in the children's department, and some rest to catch up on...oh yeah, and work which i'm off to now.~w

I feel like i ran a mile this weekend even though i was only walking. I guess it's good practice for next weekend when i'll be walking around the Mountain Renaissance Adventure Festival. This week in addition to catching up after being out last week from work i'll need to finish memorizing my lines and checking in with the costume people so i'll be ready to be the Queen of the Faeries for the weekend. I'm going to try and steal as much peace and quiet as i can out of each day so i don't start to fray at the edges.~w

Today, i was late and Dad was early so i didn't even get to the computer until now. But boy what busy-ness we've been up too! Yesterday we checked out the Folk Art Center off the Blue Ridge Parkway and showed up in time for the Scottish Festival. Then we explored Biltmore Village and especially New Morning Gallery before i gave them a mini-tour of my office in the Flat Iron Building and just enough of downtown Asheville to get us to the lovely Malaprop's Bookstore. Then today we covered the house, the gardens and the winery at the Biltmore Estate before heading to Jack of the Wood to put up our feet and listen to a bit of the celtic jam while my boss filled my Dad and Jodie in on some of the history of downtown that i just didn't know. Now...we're all exhausted. I've said goodbye for now as they head on in the morning to Gaffney, SC before trekking north to visit my sister in Chicago. whew! ~w
