Ah, Saturday. I slept in late and then started thinking. I have laundry to do.

The flute is gone, gone, gone. No word from the hotel or the rental car company. This will be the second time i've lost something at a Days Inn. The last time i hadn't even checked out of the hotel when the cd-rom disappeared. So, i'm missing my flute and decided to order one from Scott Loomis since that was the first to catch my eye even before i found the one i had. Now it's just the waiting and being fluteless. Well, not entirely, but my silver flute hurts my already out of wack back. Maybe i'm just being too particular. Maybe i'm just being whiney. The good news is that i have a friends who can fix my back and is willing to work on it today. So, maybe by tomorrow playing my silver flute will be an option.

In the meantime, i'm thinking i should finally get around to writing my thank you cards. Not that i've ever written thank you cards before, but i felt i should do it this year. Then again, i just looked at the cards i was going to use...and i'm not that thrilled with them. Maybe i'll find some other cards and do it tomorrow. Maybe i just need to veg today.~w

Hey, i forgot to mention that the Asheville Poetry Slam made the paper just in time to bring out a great audience for the feature poet from Seattle Buddy Wakefield (someday when the server is back up you'll be able to see his work at livepoets.com). Buddy got to perform for a packed house and left here safely yesterday afternoon for the big northeast.

As for me...i did three shows for middle schoolers at Valley Springs Middle in Arden, NC on Wednesday that went swimmingly (you know you're okay if the 8th graders are willing to be seen talking to you in the cafeteria). Yesterday was just one show early for K-5 around the corner at Johnston Elementary. Today we drive out to Waynesville to do three shows for the area 3rd graders. Between that and the regular office work, i'm ready for a weekend.~w

So, my horoscope says that even Murphy's Law is subject to itself. I think that's suppose to make me feel better. The flute is still missing and probably gone for good. But, i don't have to go into the office today. But, i have to leave in minutes to go do shows this morning early. But, i get to spend the day performing poetry.~w

I woke up with a headache. Grrr. I managed to get rid of it, but now of course i'm behind already starting my day. Ever have one of those Murphy's Law kind of weeks? I'm feeling that way right now.~w

I couldn't get logged on in Union, SC this morning and if that were the worst of my worries i'd be good. But, suffice it to say, i'm having "a day." On the good side, the shows and workshops went splendidly. On the bad side, i somehow left behind my cedar flute after playing it in the hotel room this morning and the hotel can't find it now. grumble grumble whah. Tomorrow can only get better.~w

Okay, i know i haven't written much lately, but i'm being lazy and have to get ready to meet someone for lunch and then rehearse and drive to South Carolina. I guess i'll have to get to this later....~w
