Since i last wrote...i found someone to take care of the cat. I helped get the wayward actors to Asheville and will be finishing the car exchange and dropping off one at home this afternoon. I worked out to relieve stress. I bought dinner and drinks on the company tab for the returning actors. I balanced my checkbook, paid bills, slept, did laundry, gave the cat antibiotics, petted her, drank some coffee, packed for a 5 day whirlwind trip to Miami. Oh, and sorted out the details with my travel partner, booked a hotel for Sunday night, and packed products for sale as requested by one of the schools. Now the dishes are done and the chipped nail polish is off my fingers and i think i'm ready to go as soon as the car arrives for loading (except for shutting down the laptop and slipping it in the bag). The only thing i haven't done is vacuumed, cleaned the gutters and raked leaves as planned for this weekend. I suppose i could still run the vacuum real quick if i tried.

This time tomorrow i'll be in Florida.~w

Since sunset yesterday the town is full of smoke because the Smokies are on fire. The sun was blood red as it set yesterday through the haze and the air smells like burning wood. My cat needed to visit the vet today to get antibiotics for a puncture wound on her neck. She was being too tough for her own good on Saturday while i was laying carpet by myself (gee where did she get that from). We lost two actors yesterday and had to cancel a show today. Now we're trying to figure out who leaves for Florida tomorrow to do the Mon and Tues shows in Miami. If it's me i need to find someone to give antibiotics to my cat and pack. In otherwords, it's been a day and it's not even noon yet.~w

I could work at home today, if it weren't for the fact that the guys are headed to NCTE this weekend and someone needs to be there to answer the phones. Which means...i'm already late getting into the office, because someone needs to be there and i'm the someone. Oh well.~w

Blogger was being grumpy at home today again, so this is a brief message before i get back to work...

I learned today that when your dryer isn't drying that you should check to make sure the vent isn't blocked. It works much better that way. Beyond that, i enjoyed a quiet evening at home after a busy day. Rodney and i drove out to Waynesville for a teacher workshop that went swimmingly and it was also a nice break to the routine. I think i managed to put some bones back in place last night during Chi Kung class based on the amount of snap crackle and popping that was going on. Funny how simple gentle movements can undo what wrestling a carpet did to me.~w

My thoughts are clouded by how to rearrange furniture now that the new room is done. I'm thinking i need big pillows or a beanbag chair or something for that room. Outside it's crisp dry and cold. I haven't ventured out the door yet, but the thermometer tells me that it's working up toward 40F finally.

A friend lent me a Feng Sheu book last night. I tried not to take it, but it was thrust upon me. It made me a little crazy looking at all the different elements involved in making sure your house has proper "flow." So far people seem to like how my house feels so i don't see why a book needs to make complicated something i can just kind of feel as i start to get things where they need to be in my home.

Anyway, i should go to work and think about organizing information and papers instead of furniture.~w

Okay, okay, i know i've been brief lately. It just seems that i can't bring myself to sit in front of the computer for very long. I want to keep moving. I feel like one of the dancers i saw Friday night spinning spinning spinning in joyful circles. Like the 5 year old birthday girl dancing the shawl dance in bright colors while daddy smiled. I spent a large portion of yesterday playing the flute and talking with friends and playing the flute again. Now i'll spend most of the day in front of a computer screen. Perhaps that is why i am so reluctant to sit down in front of it at home.~w

Today is officially a day of rest. The world outside is beautiful. I'm going to sit in it.~w
