I am thankful for...
a warm house with running water (hot & cold)
food in the fridge and food on the table
a view of the woods and mountains out my window
a cat and a dog that are good companions
a couple of puppies that are entertaining though messy
a family that loves and cares for me even when I am far away
friends far and near who cheer me when I'm sad
friends far and near to rejoice with me the rest of the time
music to hear and play
poetry to read, listen to, and share
a computer to keep track of the numbers and words I want to save
a car that gets me where I need to go

and last, but far from least...
a roommate who can share in the adventures and the necessary repairs

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! ~w

Today I'm in Houston, Texas. I don't think I've gotten the performance page updated with all the new stuff that has been added at the last minute. I'm hoping to have a better connection at my hotel tonight so I can fix such things. It's a whirlwind trip this week doing one day of shows here and then we spend Wednesday morning doing shows in San Antonio and then drive through the night so my tour partner and I can get back for other commitments on Thursday. I'm preparing to work with another fourth grade class after Thanksgiving. We'll be writing poetry and studying the early days of the American colonies before the Revolution.

On Saturday the Firecracker Jazz Band will be playing on a float in the Asheville Holiday Parade. I'll be dancing along to the music and handing out candy with a gaggle of friends. It should be festive even though I'm not in the mood for holiday shopping madness.

Beyond that, life's been moving pretty fast, full of poetry, music, visitors and visits. I've even been writing things myself these days...good for me.~w
