power outage

Well, the wind over the past few days has Duke Energy busy. It looks like it may be Thursday before I have electricity at home again. Thank heavens for the coffeehouse which has electricity and wireless access. I suppose this also provides me an opportunity to get away from working all day at the computer and practicing music and memorizing lines instead.

This morning I worked with two classes of fifth graders on writing blues poems about the Viet Nam war. It's amazing how much fun they seemed to be having learning about the war. Yet, the poems certainly have that "blues" feel to them.
