I just finished working with an 8th grade class acting out the 1800 election between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. I hope the kids remember some of this, because I certainly learned more about this particular election and the development of our government in the eight days I worked with them than I had in any of the classes that I took in school. I also learned about life from them as well. This week I'm watching 7th and 8th graders audition for Wizard of Oz. It's a lot more silly and relaxed than the past few weeks have been.
I'm taking a three day workshop this weekend that will hopefully give me some more ideas about putting cash in my pocket. I'm hoping I'll feel a bit wiser afterwards. My roommate and his band are off to the Chapel Hill area for some shows, so I'll have plenty of time to digest and think.
Once my head is full of too many numbers and ideas I plan to relax Tuesday night at Jack of the Wood for their Mardi Gras party featuring the Firecracker Jazz Band.
I know, it's only a snippet of the work and world I'm wading through right now. But winter is a good time for hibernation and thought, and it may take a Spring cleaning to pump some new life into this blog. Till then, I'll try to keep the posts semi-regular and hopefully interesting.~w
